Let exposure be our greatest weapon.

But to look back from the stony plain along the road which led one to that place is not at all the same thing as walking on the road; the perspective to say the very least, changes only with the journey; only when the road has, all abruptly and treacherously, and with an absoluteness that permits no argument, turned or dropped or risen is one able to see all that one could not have seen from any other place. ~James Baldwin

Exposure plays a crucial role in one’s development. By providing opportunities for young individuals to engage with different perspectives and experiences, we can broaden their horizons and foster empathy. Exposure to other cultures allows one to recognize commonalities and shared humanity, planting seeds of other ways of thinking and doing, reducing the likelihood of resorting to violence as a means of expression. Encouraging exploration, drawing parallels between experiences of people of similar background, and fostering positive independence can build a sense of belonging beyond the confines of one's immediate surroundings. A more interconnected and understanding society can contribute to breaking the cycle of violence by addressing the root causes and promoting a collective commitment to creating safer, more inclusive communities .

Our vision is that through international travel the adjudicated youth of Philadelphia will be given an opportunity to step outside of American culture, as well as a chance for the world to experience them for who they are without the prejudice of their former decisions. A moment of clarity, peace, and the ability to be able to enjoy experiences as simple as dining outdoors or walking through a park without the threat of violence is essential to the promotion of their reformative healing journey.
